My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Virginia! She is a sweet and curious 12 week old, 8 pound puppy who came to us with her sisters Georgia and Montana. They are an easy going, fun and loving bunch! Her mom is a small lab mix, but based on Virginia's current size it seems she will be much smaller than a lab when full grown. However, only those willing to take pot luck in terms of her ultimate breed and size should apply!

Virginia is in a foster home with her sisters and two children (ages 6 and 2). She is kid and dog friendly, and ready to find a family of her own. She is an explorer, and more independent than her sisters. She loves being outside, checking out every square inch of the yard, and instigating playtime with her sisters. She is also the first one to go lay down for a nap when she’s tired out! Virginia is well on her way to being house trained; she understands “go potty” and will generally go on newspaper if needed indoors. She has been sleeping with her sisters in a crate overnight with little to no whining and very few accidents.

Because she is still young, Virginia will need someone home part or all day to complete her house training, keep her well socialized and exercised. She will be ready for puppy school in a few weeks; obedience training is another requirement for adoption.

Virginia is still living in her foster home, but makes frequent visits to Wilmette Pet (625 Green Bay Road in Wilmette) in search of her forever family. Feel free to call Wilmette Pet during normal business hours (847-251-6750) to confirm Virginia is there to meet. Although she is so sweet you will want to take her home on the spot, please note you will have to go through the application process first.

Virginia's adoption fee is $375, which includes: vet exam, DHAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, bordetella vaccination, rabies vaccination, microchip, deworming, flea and tick preventative, Heartworm preventative and spay.
