Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet our handsome new guy Jordy, a classic German Shepherd. He is a big boy weighing in at 95lbs. Because of his size and confidence he should have someone who is experienced with the breed and that he will respect. With the right owner he will be a great dog, and a true ambassador for the breed. Jordy does like other dogs, but he likes them to know that he is the boss, and with his size and strength that is pretty much a given.
3 Years old
House & Crate Trained
Neutered & Micro-chipped
Good with other dogs, dominant personality
Assessing how he is with cats
Heartworm positive, slow-kill treatment for now
Jordy loves ear rubs and treats, especially meaty treats, and will look to you for guidance in behavior, so his owner will need to provide it. We believe leadership comes through bonding, respect and attention. Dog's lovers welcome but most of the time a strong, but loving assertiveness is required with this breed. If you think you are the right leader for him then he may be your boy!
A Note About Heartworms
Jordy might have been dumped by an owner who did not administer monthly heart worm preventative, or may have found out that his dog had contracted the yucky mosquito bite disease. Heartworm treatment is expensive, and far outweighs our adoption fee. This treatment completely clears the dogs of this condition. Once they finish their treatment they are cleared and once again in good health. It is non-contagious, treatable, but most importantly preventable. Please give your dog their monthly pill!!
