Tonia's Story...
Tonia is a cute Schnauzer-Terrier mix here at PRH. She is just about 1 year old and weighs 13 pounds. Her disposition is sweet and, at the moment, a little quiet. We suspect she'll be more outgoing as she gets used to her new surroundings. However, she is affectionate with people and gets along well with other dogs.
Come by Poodle Rescue of Houston any day to meet this great dog and many others - the best time to visit is between 9-4:00. We're at 13302 Schroeder Rd., off SH 249 just past FM 1960 in NW Houston. No appointment is needed; we'll interview you onsite.
All the dogs are spayed/neutered, current on shots, and parasite / heartworm checked (and treated if positive). All dogs are trained to use a doggie door. Adoption Fees vary. Please see our website: www.poodlerescueofhouston.org for complete info on our organization, adopter qualifications and directions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tonia, a Houston Schnauzer (Miniature)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Miniature)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Houston, or seeking a Schnauzer (Miniature)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Miniature)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Miniature)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
