~ ADOPTION PENDING ~

You may meet and apply to adopt Otter at our ADOPTION EVENT on SUNDAY, JUNE 26th from 12 Noon - 3:00 at PETCO in NEWPORT BEACH. (Our event is held INSIDE of the PETCO store.) adoptpetmatch@gmail.com

Otter is a male Shih Tzu mix approximately 4 years old. He is charcoal gray and white in color with a soft, wavy coat that is non-shedding. Otter has been professionally groomed and had to be shaved due to a tangled, matted coat upon rescue. His coat will grow out long in a short amount of time. Otter is a mellow gentleman, rarely making a peep and never making a fuss. He is very easy going around the house and is content to simply follow you around or hang out in the sunshine in the backyard. Otter enjoys trotting around in the grass and will busy himself investigating things while you read or garden or maybe barbeque. He is a sweet, sensitive dog and truly wants a home that loves and cares about him. Otter has had a hard life so far with little love and no care. The level of neglect this poor dog was subjected to is sad and unfair. Our vet discovered that at some point, Otter even had his jaw broken (it has long since healed). Otter has a loving heart and is as loyal as can be to those he bonds with. He will give kisses and rub his head in your hand to show his affection and appreciation. Otter walks easily on leash and will stick close to your side when out in public. He is fine with other dogs but seems to prefer a quieter, more peaceful environment where he doesn't need to share his space and be jostled around by other doggie friends. Otter loves treats and the occasional toy, but he doesn't really have a need to play. He mostly loves creature comforts, being petted, and being inside with you where its cozy and warm. We think since he hasn't gotten much of that so far in his life that he thrives with being pampered. The first time he saw a soft doggie bed he fell sound asleep on his back with his legs in the air! Otter is going to do best in a quiet, peaceful home as a warm and loving companion pet. Otter was rescued from a very high-volume/high-kill shelter where he was brought in stray. He is ready for his new forever loving home today!

Otter’s adoption donation is $425 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). He has been NEUTERED, MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, DEFLEAED and PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED. Also included is his collar with ID, harness, leash, folder with all of his records, a great PETCO coupon book, and a fun goodie bag with toys, etc.

Otter is being fostered by Pet Match Rescue Foster Volunteer, Mary B. and is ready for his forever home.

You may meet and apply to adopt Otter at our ADOPTION EVENT on SUNDAY, JUNE 26th from 12 Noon - 3:00 at PETCO in NEWPORT BEACH located at 1280 Bison Ave., Newport Beach, CA 92660. adoptpetmatch@gmail.com
