Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Paisley is an adorable, sweet, two-year-old bulldog mix. Yes, she is all kinds of cute! Unfortunately, she is not always easy. Because Paisley has been adopted and returned multiple times, we want to be clear about the ideal home for this girl and the work that may be involved. If you're interested in Paisley's irresistible looks, please keep reading to learn more about her needs.
Paisley is a fairly active dog (she has short bursts of energy, but not a ton of stamina) and needs mental stimulation more than anything else. She's had previous training, but her ideal family will continue that training in order to improve her impulse control. She will chase small animals relentlessly if given the opportunity. In the past, she's managed to slip away from her owner in her pursuit of a good chase. We've worked with her on this and she's gotten much better, however, further training is crucial to preventing her from reverting to her old ways.
We are also working on crate training for Paisley. She will need frequent potty breaks to keep her on the right track, as she has been known to urinate in the crate. Paisley is ok with children, but would do best with kids who are older due to her playful bursts of energy. She can sometimes be a "bull in a china shop." She is ok with other dogs, but does have a rough play style that some dogs may not appreciate.
Potential adopters must be willing to participate in a one-hour private, in-home training lesson with our trainer prior to adopting Paisley. (This is provided at no extra fee.)
Paisley is heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. If you are interested in any Sparky pet, please go to www.sparkyrescue.com/adopting and fill out our pre application.
