My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTION PENDING!

Please read my entire biography for all the information the rescuers have about me and how to adopt:

Nick is a handsome fellow who is a real sweetheart. Everyone that meets him instantly falls in love. Nick is hoping his sweet personality helps him find a forever family. Nick is approximately 1.5 years old He was rescued from a shelter in Houston, Texas, just moments before being euthanize.

From his Wisconsin Foster:

Nick is a total sweetheart! He loves his people, he loves other people, he loves dogs, he loves to play fetch and tug, he loves to chew on toys and bones, and he LOVES to run. He can do 21 mph alongside a bike and has the running gait of a greyhound. He is a high-energy dog who is equally happy to go for a long fast walk or to cuddle on the couch. He is a "working dog" breed and was identified as either a German shepherd/lab mix or a black-mouth cur, and definitely has herding instincts. He will attempt to herd other dogs at the dog park, and contantly circles his people at home. He needs a home where he has plenty of room to run; long walks aren't enough exercise for Nick.

Nick is a young dog, probably 1.5 to 2 years old. He seems to be full grown and is a little smaller than a typical German Shepherd with a slender, lighter build, weighing in at around 55 lbs. Nick has a very athletic physique, and while he looks very slim the vet says that he is just fit and at a healthy weight. He is house-trained and gets through an 8-hour day without accidents. He doesn't chew on things that he should not, although toys which can be chewed to pieces will be, and he has not damaged anything that was not a dog toy.

Nick needs a family which can allow him to sprint off-leash every day - ideally more than once. If given room to run and, ideally, a job to do, he will be living to his full potential and will give his family amazing love and loyalty in return.
