Facts about Gertrude

  • Species: Turtle - Water
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Medium
  • Sex: Female
Gurtie is a red-eared slider and came from a very loving home. She cannot be released into the wild since they are not native to this area of the US. She will need at least a 75 gallon tank, an extra large canister filter, a tube-style UVB light, a heat lamp, a dock to sit on and completely dry off, daily feedings of red or green leaf lettuce, turtle pellets, and access to cuttle bone. If you are interested, please note that all equipment will be required before adoption (Gurtie will not be adopted to someone else if you are interested and let Heartland's reptile coordinator know you are getting equipment together). A picture of equipment or a home visit will also be required. Gurtie's adoption fee is $35. Please contact Heartland Small Animal Rescue for more information or if you have questions.
