Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ADOPTED!
*CHLOE*
#114-16
Female Pit Mix
Date in: 3/28/16
Chloe suffers from masticatory muscle myositis which has caused the muscles in her skull to deteriorate. When she first arrived at the Muskingum County Dog Pound, she was unable to open her mouth enough to eat or drink. After being diagnosed and treated by a local veterinarian, she was immediately placed in foster care where she is THRIVING!!! Chloe is a true miracle and we are so excited to see that she has put on weight and looks absolutely beautiful. Her foster family reports that she is potty-trained, gets along well with dogs, tolerates cats, knows how to sit and shake, and does well on and off leash. They think that she is an amazing dog! Although she is able to open her mouth more than before, she is not able to open it completely. We are unsure if she will regain this ability or not.
It is likely that Chloe will require ongoing medical treatment for her disease, so we do suggest that anyone interested in a adopting her speak with a vet beforehand. Due to Chloe's condition, it may be difficult / dangerous to sedate her so currently she is unspayed.
Please help us find a wonderful home or rescue for Chloe!
