Killeen's Story...
Birthdate: November 28, 2015. Meet Killeen! Killeen and her sister, Abilene, were in a high kill shelter in Paris, Texas, and when Texas got all those rain storms a few weeks ago, their shelter flooded. Killeen and her sister her were in 3 inches of water and had to be moved right away. They were transferred to the Battle Creek Humane Society and the shelter soon learned that these two shy girls would not do well in a shelter environment. We were contacted to help them find a foster home where these two girls would have a quiet and stable environment to decompress in. Killeen is actually very social with humans in her foster home. She is very playful, and is good with other dogs and okay with cats. She does have an issue with eating, she will eat and eat to excess and must be put on a feeding schedule.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Killeen, a Sterling Heights Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Sterling Heights, or seeking a Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Sterling Heights.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sterling Heights already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sterling Heights breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Beagle/Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sterling Heights paves the way for another one to be saved.
