Aloha! Rio here--remember that Cyndi Lauper song “Boys Just Wanna Have Fun!” She wrote that song about me; it goes like this: Some people take a beautiful dog/and hide him away from the rest of the world/I want to be the dog who walks with you in the sun/Oh boys they want to have fun/Oh boys just want to have fun! I am a 5-year old Poodle/Basset/Doxie mix who wants to have fun! I’m wonderful with kids, even little kids. Yup! But I’m not just all about fun. I’m about being good too. I walk easy on a leash, and at my last home I was housetrained so good that I got to hang out wherever I wanted whenever my people went away. They’re moving now and they said there’s no room for me. How come? I don’t take up much space at all. I fit in a lap. I could fit in your lap. I can even fit in your heart. I didn’t eat here for a while because I was hiding inside, I missed my people, but then the volunteers got me some special food, and sat in my kennel with me while I ate, and I ate every last morsel, and then I rolled my little, happy, squeaky pig over with my paw! Yup! It took love to make me want to have fun again. How about you?
