Iris's Story...
Iris is a 4 year old quarter horse mare. She is 14’1, and has been under saddle for 60 days. She is extremely sweet and mellow. She is easy to handle and train on. Iris ties, ground ties, trailers, easy to saddle and bridle, and you can mount and dismount from either side. She walks, trots, and canters on a loose rein, and move hind quarters easily. She is a very easy going mare and with more training would make a wonderful Cowboy Dressage horse or a trail horse.
Iris needs a confident intermediate rider, as well as more training. Her adoption fee is $1000. If interested please call or text Jeannine Etheridge at 209-614-2338. For more information on Iris you can look up Oakdale Equine Rescue on Facebook or on our website oakdaleequinerescue.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Iris, a Oakdale Quarterhorse was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Quarterhorse for sale in Oakdale, or seeking a Quarterhorse from a breeder in Oakdale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakdale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakdale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Quarterhorse breeders who help with Quarterhorse rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakdale paves the way for another one to be saved.
