My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Megan is a beautiful dark brindle and white 3 year old girl who just retired from racing with an injured shoulder. She appears to do fine with cats, but her small dog status is not yet known.

I'm not actually made of chocolate, I just look like it. I am super sweet once you get to know me. You see, I'm an introvert. I like to hang back and watch what's going on around me rather than jumping into the middle of it, like some doggies. After I've adjusted to my new surroundings, I'm fine. I like following my foster mom around. She says I"m Velcro.

I like the other doggies in the house. I like to blend into the heard and just do what they do. I've only tried to play with them once so far. I may try again this weekend. I've discovered I like squeaky toys too. The other doggies just need to understand the purple bear is MINE! I've never had a purple bear before and I don't want to give it up.

I think I'd like to live in a quiet home with adult peoples. I also think I'd like to have doggie siblings. I might be okay without another doggie if my person is with me almost all the time. I cry a little when my foster mom leaves me. I can't help it. I don't understand why I can't go with her!

If you would like a quiet, calm companion to relax with you and go for nice walks, I'm your girl! I'm having no puppies surgery on June 27, so I'll be ready to go home with you soon!

FOSTER UPDATE:

Megan is doing very well in foster. She is shy but people oriented. She follows me around the house and rests on a dog bed near me while I'm working. She loves to be petted and has attempted to climb into my lap.

Megan gets along fine with the resident male and female greyhounds and female whippet. She watches what they do and follows their lead. Megan is a little resource protective with her favorite toys, which is very common with hounds new to pet life. She will get over that as soon as she learns there are plenty of toys to go around.

Megan walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. She hasn't mastered the dog door yet, but hasn't had an accident in the house. Megan is well behaved in the home. Megan would be a great companion for someone who lives a quiet lifestyle and is home most of the time.
