My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Bear. I've had an awful lot of bad things happen to me in my life so far (I'm only about six months old!). The people here wish that I could tell them exactly what other humans did to me so that they could explain that those things are never going to happen to me again. I need a VERY experienced adopter (and I hope one who knows all about chows and our unique personalities). The people at the shelter are very kind and patient but right now I am still so afraid that I will bite if I feel overwhelmed or if I am pushed to hard. I am not at all mean - just scared. My new family is going to need to be very patient and willing to work hard to bring me out of .my shell. I'll be worth it but it is going to be a labor of love and I will be worth it.

The people at the shelter want me to remind you that they will not approve an adoption to any family with younger children (teenagers would be fine but no younger) and would like to see me go to a quiet home with a single owner. My adoption fee is $325. Thank you for looking and I hope that there is someone out there with a great big heart who wants to make me their own!
