BRADLEY's Story...
An adoption application on BRADLEY can be found at the following link: http://wp.me/P73YMd-1h
Please email the completed application to weatherley.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application AND do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.

BRADLEY is one of the calmest, kindest souls we have met. He is so low key that he is perfectly fine living in a town home as long as there is a fenced court yard. BRADLEY is good in his crate and is house trained. He thoroughly enjoys going for walks, however this guy will not potty on the leash (he likes privacy for those sorts of things). He currently lives in a foster home with 2 cats. He totally leaves them alone and is actually kind of afraid of them. He is friendly with other dogs as well, but isn't a player. He is the lounge and cuddle sort. He adores his foster mom and follows her everywhere. He is truly the sweetest dog she has ever known. This guy is one of those rare gentle souls that some people are never lucky enough to meet in their lifetimes. The forever family who opens their hearts to this guy and is patient while he learns to trust them will be forever repaid in endless love.

BRADLEY is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.

His $450 adoption fee includes an interstate health certificate and cost of transport to New England.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

BRADLEY, a Kittery German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever for sale in Kittery, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Kittery.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Kittery already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Kittery breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Kittery paves the way for another one to be saved.
