My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please meet Lola
She is not in foster care with CAA Rescue but remains in her home. Her family contacted us to help rehome her due to their lack of time and availability to give Lola what she needs
Lola has no toy or food aggression with her current family
She is crate trained, suffers from no separation anxiety when left alone during a work day in her crate.
Lola is not a big barker but she can be vocal to say hello to people arriving in the home… just to be sure that everyone knows she is there
Lola is a young girl still by all accounts a baby as she was born November 2015 making her only 7 months old this June. At 48 lbs this girl still has a lot of growing to do
She is overall well behaved but like a good pup she likes to get into things every now and again that she is not supposed to … like left out firewood. She likes to chew on it so if you have not put it away you will be sure to find little wood splinters on your floor.
She is house trained and knows all of her basic commands. She can pull on the leash but this is easily corrected with different positive techniques or perhaps a change in apparatus that she is currently using on her walks
Lola is a puppy with good energy looking to learn everything you have to show her and play with everyone
She has not been tested around cats and while she has met young children we do not think that a home with them at this time is ideal for Lola. As a baby herself with still so much learning and growing to do she can easily and quite unknowingly knock a little one over causing harm and stress for everyone. It won’t be her fault though as she is not a mean girl just a baby girl who would be heartbroken to know she hurt someone.
Lola loves her people, loves their attention and wants nothing more than to be loved in return.
Lola would like to continue being a good canine citizen with the encouragement of positive reinforcement techniques
Lola has great recall and likes snoozing on the couch with you while watching TV
Her current family says: She has the brains of a border collie and the temperament of Berner
Her family made this special note and recommends the following:
Lola has been raised with a lot of love, attention, daily affection and training, and she gets depressed when she isn’t around us. She’s not a couch-potato! she absolutely needs a fenced yard where she can run and play. She needs to be in a place where people are active and will include her in their day-to-day life and give her tasks etc. While she’s really sweet, she might not be good for a family with tiny kids because of her energy and enthusiasm. Lola is half border collie but wouldn’t make a very good working dog because she doesn’t show any herding instincts. She’s an amazing family dog.

If you would like to meet Lola at his home in Laval please write to CAARescue@gmail.com we will ask you to complete an adoption application so that we can learn a little more about you and if you are a perfect fit for Lola we will make arrangements for you to meet her for potential adoption
A 3-Step process to adopt:
1. Fill the adoption form. It might seem long, but it’s the best way to find the right dog for you and your family!
2. We’ll arrange a meeting with the family so you can see if he’s the right one for you.
3. If you decide to move forward, you’ll be asked to agree to a home visit, fill-in and sign an adoption agreement and if possible make a donation to rescue.
Breed: Border Collie - Bernese Mountain Dog as listed by the apparent “breeder” but we just believe that Lola is a beautiful black Labrador Retriever
Sex: female
Housetrained: yes
Leash trained: yes
Age: DOB November 29, 2015
Family Location: Laval, Quebec
Anxiety: no anxiety to note at this time
Vet History: health check, base vaccinated (last vet visit May 2016), spayed
Mild hip dysplasia in her right hind leg takes daily glucosamine supplements and eats joint mobility diet if at some point she does require surgery for it the costs can be between $1,500 - 3,500

There is not adoption fee request from CAA Rescue, we would only kindly ask for a donation to rescue so that we can continue our work helping animals in need
