***Courtesy Post*** Hey there. My name is Hugo. As in Handsome Hugo. Not only am I handsome, but I am loving and well mannered too. I wasn't always this way though. When I was about 2, still a young boy, I was taken to East Valley Shelter by my humans after being sprayed by a thing they call a skunk. I don't know what happened but it's smell must have driven my humans away. Somehow, I was "saved" by another set of humans but I use the word "saved" loosely. They just left me in the back yard all the time and never gave me attention. I tried my best to be a good boy so they would love me but nothing I did was right. But because I had angels watching over me, I was saved from that house too. Now I get to stay in a foster home where I get to go on hikes and spend holidays with a family. I would love a family of my own though. I am good with other dogs, even if they're smaller than me. I also really enjoy kids and people. My favorite thing is to play with a ball, go for hikes, or just hang with my humans. I might be 80 lbs, but I am a gentle boy. I walk well on a gentle leader too (it's that thing on my face in most of my pictures). I am about 6 years young now and am looking for someone who can keep me and love me for as long as I love them.
K9 Kismet was founded to provide a resource for families of 4-legged (or 3-legged... we love our tripods) furries to be able to stay together in times of financial hardship by offering assistance with food, medical, and housing relocation services.
Our secondary mission is to rescue shelter animals and find them forever home.

Come Meet Our Pets...
Our pets are residents of their foster family homes and are available for meet and greets by appointment. We are currently too small to hold adoption events, but may be invited to participate in events hosted by other rescues. Stay tuned to our website and Facebook page for event announcements.
Our Adoption Process...
All adopters must be willing to complete an adoption application and home check prior to placement of the animal. All members of the household are required to meet the pet prior to adoption. If other animals are in the home, a meet and greet among the animals is also required. We offer foster-to-adopt options if additional time is needed.
Adoption fees vary on animal and medical status, but in general are:
$200 - young and adult dogs* $150 - seniors* $150 - young and adult cats* $100 - senior cats*
$300* for puppies or kittens who have not yet received all vaccinations prior to entering our rescue - getting them ready to enter mainstream society is expensive!
*Prices listed above are maximum prices. If our costs to care for the animal are less than the amounts listed above, K9 Kismet will offer a discount.
All animals are vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption.
