Charlee is a pretty orange and white female who was born in 2013. Charlee finds the shelter environment a bit stressful; not everyone likes having 75 feline roommates. She will do best in a quiet home where her true personality can shine. All this girl needs is time, patience and love. Did you know that orange female cats are rare? They are! Heartland rescued Charlee from Chicago Animal Care and Control.

About Heartland Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

Heartland Animal Shelter is a no-kill humane 501 c 3 organization dedicated to finding homeless pets forever homes while educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets in order to help with the pet overpopulation problem.

Dr. Herbert Preiser, DVM and founder of Heartland Animal Shelter wanted to make a difference by saving the lives of pets who might otherwise be euthanized because of the over-population of unwanted pets. Dr. Preiser opened Heartland Animal Shelter in October of 2002.

Heartland's vision is to eliminate euthanasia to any adoptable animal. Heartland asks for your support by spreading the word about the importance of why pets should be spayed or neutered in order to prevent overpopulation of cats and dogs. Together we can make a difference!
