Lovely Reeta is no meter maid. She is an adorable and affectionate black young lady who was born in 2014. Reeta has a short stump for a tail and she wags it just like a dog wags its tail. She is so cute! This happy-go-lucky girl came to Heartland from a rescue group in Dewitt county. Reeta is front-paw declawed and can be a bit nippy when she plays, so she may be best in a home without little kids. This little girl just wants to have fun!

About Heartland Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

Heartland Animal Shelter is a no-kill humane 501 c 3 organization dedicated to finding homeless pets forever homes while educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets in order to help with the pet overpopulation problem.

Dr. Herbert Preiser, DVM and founder of Heartland Animal Shelter wanted to make a difference by saving the lives of pets who might otherwise be euthanized because of the over-population of unwanted pets. Dr. Preiser opened Heartland Animal Shelter in October of 2002.

Heartland's vision is to eliminate euthanasia to any adoptable animal. Heartland asks for your support by spreading the word about the importance of why pets should be spayed or neutered in order to prevent overpopulation of cats and dogs. Together we can make a difference!
