My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Dusty, and you will have to meet me to know that 11 is the new 7 in dog years! (If you're over 40, you'll get that one!) I'm mostly a German Shepherd Dog, but my Husky side keeps me feeling young! I'm also quite the conversationalist. I was a great senior companion, but my senior just ran out of energy for me. I'm sure it was hard for her to let me go, but I still love being a snuggle buddy, especially during a thunderstorm! If it was not for my GSD pride, I might be able to admit I am a big baby! I have recently moved in with two cats, and even though I tried to be a gentleman and introduce myself a few times, they did not like me. I still think we could be friends, but right now I ignore them.

I met a few families, too, and really like children who are a little bit older. Honestly, that 5 and under group bounces more than Tiggers! They scare me because they are almost as unpredictable as thunder!

Nothing makes me happier than spending time outside, with or without you in a big, fenced yard (see social butterfly notes above - I will explore the neighborhood if you let me out), but I really love to go for long walks with you, and I am the perfect gentleman on leash. Back in the yard, there is nothing like a good game of foot tag - I LOVE foot tag! So don't get mad at me if you wear your favorite pants to play. You know sometimes foot tag turns into tug-of-war pants! If I get to be too much of a Tigger for you, just tell me to Leave It! and I'll be cool! I am also really awesome at sit, down and stay.....even when dinner gets set down and I'm hungry.

But oh, car rides! I really, really like to go for a ride in the car! Rescue me and I'll rescue you right back! I give really great kisses and hugs!
