My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chloe is a 10 year old rat terrier/Jack Russell mix weighing in at about 16 pounds. Don't let her age put you off, as this girl still has plenty of love left to give. She is spunky and oh so sweet! Chloe arrived at a high kill shelter in Southern Indiana with another dog when their owner died. The other dog was adopted, and Chloe was left there by herself, very sad and confused. She pulled at my heartstrings, knowing her time was limited at the shelter, and knowing her age might be a deterrent for finding a home in time. She arrived at my home very grateful to be back in a home, and quickly became my friend. I have no doubt that she was loved and a very treasured companion by her late owner. I hope to find her as good of a home to spend her last years in, knowing her former owner would be so grateful. Chloe is very companion orientated, and loves to be loved, so will do best in a home where she is not left alone all day. Chloe is house broken and crate trained, but is not found of being in a crate. She is not destructive when left alone, so would be ok without one. She loves to go for walks and car rides. Chloe likes squeaky toys and bones, and is fine with other dogs. She can be a bit standoffish with strangers, but warms up if she's given a little time. She can be a bit of a bossy pants, so will be best with a dog that won't mind this. She is being fostered with another small female who can also be a bit bossy, so they have worked it out by taking turns bossing each other around! They play and wrestle...and have been great company for each other. Chloe enjoys snoozing on a dog bed or the couch. At night time she sleeps on a dog bed in my room, or will sometimes get on the bed, crawl under the covers, and sleep completely underneath them. She also entertains herself by chasing the occasional fly that finds its way inside, very entertaining to watch!:) I can't say enough good things about this girl. She's one of those dogs I wish I could keep. She would be a wonderful companion for someone, a great first pet, a companion for another mellow smaller dog, or a nice family pet. Because of her age, her adoption fee is only $100. She doesn't have any health issues, but I do want to find her a home that will see her through to the end. (The vet said 16 is most likely the life expectancy for a dog like this). Chloe is spayed and current on her shots. If you think she might be a good match for you, or to hear more about her, please call Colleen at 331 256-0652.
