My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lily is a 2 year old 75 lb female Black Lab mix. We don't know much about her history, other than she was originally in a high kill shelter in Indiana where she was then transferred to the "big house". Yes Lily went to prison, literally. One of the prisons has a great program where the inmates work with the dogs, train them a bit and get them ready for adoption. Lily was pardoned, ha ha, and is now living with us in Illinois. She now knows how to sit, shake and down is ready to find her forever home. We began fostering Lily on June 26th. What we can tell you after a couple of days is that Lily is a great looking dog who is a very loyal, lovable dog and has a big heart. She just loves being around people.
Her first day or two was about as good as could be expected. Lily is learning the routine where first thing in the morning we get up, go outside and go to the bathroom, then come inside and eat breakfast. We are teaching her some manners and have her sit before we feed her, although she already knew that. Lily would prefer to be the only dog in the house and will let other dogs know. She is getting better every day with our German Shepherd mix, and is beginning to mind her manners. Lily enjoys playing with ropes, toys, nylabones, etc..., which you can see in one of the pictures. She also likes to play fetch with her ball in the yard. Lily has shown no aggression with toys or food either. We've taken Lily on a couple of walks so far and she's done absolutely great, other than acting up a bit when she saw another dog. She appears pretty mild mannered so far.
Lily is crate trained and currently goes in there when we go to work and is great about it. The first night he slept in her crate but since then she has slept in our bedroom on the floor. She would much rather sleep in bed with you however we don't let dogs in the bed. Typically we like to give the dogs a couple of days and see how they do but we had a good feeling about Lily and she has not disappointed. Lily appears to be potty trained and hasn't had an accident in the house yet, but with all new dogs we keep an eye on her and make sure she is let outside and gets into a routine. Basically all Lily wants is to be loved, played with, and given some attention. Lily really enjoys being near you and wouldn't mind being up on the couch and snuggling up with you if you are watching TV.
I would say Lily has a medium level of energy and would do great in just about any type of home. If you want her to play he has the energy but the nice part is she can relax nicely and be very calm. I certainly see her being able to go for a walk or jog around the block with you. Lily absolutely enjoys the outdoors and roaming around our fenced in backyard. This beautiful girl deserves a forever home and would make a great addition to your family. Lily is up to date on all his vaccinations, has been spayed and micro-chipped.
