Hi! Hi! Hi! My name is Harley, pleased to meet you! Don't let the name fool you, I am a lovely 16 year old female Umbrella Cockatoo. My foster daddy says that I am a real sweetie. I am an equal opportunity snuggler, I like both men and women!
I am a real cuddly, hands on type snuggler and I have to admit I really crave attention..a lot of it. Sometimes, when I feel like I'm not getting all the attention I feel I deserve, I will scream to let you know that I think you are neglecting me. This makes me quite unsuitable for apartment or condo living, so please, if you are interested in adopting me, live in a single family family home.
I get along well with my foster family's furry friends (both dogs and cats) but please do not leave me together with your other pets, unsupervised, no matter how well we seem to get along. Bedtime is not a problem for me. I will quiet down and go to sleep right away when it's dark and I am covered and will sleep through the night.
I am a pellet diet supplemented with "chop". My foster dad has been trying to get me to eat these things called "nuts" but so far I havent been too thrilled with them. If you would like to cut off a piece of the fresh fruit you are eating and give me a taste, I bet I would like it!
My favorite toy is one that I can destroy. I can't have too many of those! Hey! What can I say? I have a big beak and you know what they say...A busy beak is a happy beak. (or something like that). My favorite game is Peek A Boo! I love to get under the covers and stick my head out and hear you say Peek A Boo! I also like it when my foster daddy holds me on his arm, holds my feet, and flips me upside down very fast. If you come to meet me, I'll ask him to show you how he does this.
I am really a pretty good natured bird and should fit well into my new forever home, but first I have to find it! Would you be interested in giving a beautiful Umbrella cockatoo a home for good? An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird’s cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
