Briar- GreatFamilyDog's Story...
Briar came to us from a cruelty situation in a nearby town. He has now been neutered, is up to date on shots and has tested negative for heartworms and is on prevention. He has also been wormed (just in case). Briar is about 2 years old now and weighs about 40 lbs (that is just a guesstimate). He is a very amenable, gentle, sweet boy that has had a little bit of obedience training and is super willing to please! He would make a great family dog!! Our teenage volunteers absolutely adore him (as you can see in the pictures!) Briar came in with his brother Blue who's temperament and demeanor is very much the same as Briars. They do NOT have to be re-homed together, but either one would be a great choice!!
We are a small, all volunteer group who is focused on all of the pets we take in finding spectacular loving homes. We do not adopt first come, first gets the animal. Our adoption committee carefully selects the applicant that they feel would be best for this particular animal.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Once the application process is completed, we will set up appointments for the meet and greet to work around every one's schedules . Address and directions will be exchanged once approved.
Our Adoption Process...
Adopters search for a forever pet to bring into the family. Potential adopters send interest so an application can be sent. Not all pets are a good match for all families, we will focus on what is best for the pet. Vet references will be checked for prior pet care diligence. A phone interview will be done prior to the meet and greet with pet. When all parties are confident, the contract is completed. Mandatory services are completed if they haven't been yet. Adopter picks up pet and signs an Adoption Contract that includes a clause (must initial) that IF FOR ANY REASON THIS ANIMAL DOES NOT WORK OUT IN THEIR HOME IT IS TO COME BACK TO THIS AGENCY (ALMOST HOME) AND MUST NOT BE 'RE-HOMED OR TAKEN TO ANOTHER SHELTER. ADOPTION FEE'S ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. ALL OF OUR ANIMALS ARE MICRO-CHIPPED PRIOR TO LEAVING OUR CUSTODY. OUR NAME AND INFO STAYS ON THE MICRO-CHIP EVEN AFTER WE TRANSFER THE CHIP INTO THE ADOPTERS NAME.
