Benson's Story...
Meet Benson! He is a gorgeous purebred Black and Tan Coonhound with tons of spare energy to burn! He will need a family who is dedicated to providing him with adequate daily exercise. Benson has a history of escaping his yard, so tall fencing and very close outdoor supervision is required to ensure his safety. He is a smart guy who already knows how to sit and shake. Like most hounds, Benson is quite vocal and may not be appreciated by your neighbors if you live in close proximity to others. Benson would LOVE to participate in a nose work or tracking class with you to put that powerful nose of his to work! If you are not familiar with the breed, please do some research before considering adding Benson to your family. The cost of Benson's adoption does not include the cost of his neuter surgery. Once adopted, he will be transported to a local veterinarian where he will be released to his adopters once payment to the clinic is complete. Come let this beautiful boy steal your heart today!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Benson, a Rapid City Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Coonhound for sale in Rapid City, or seeking a Coonhound dog from a breeder in Rapid City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rapid City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rapid City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Coonhound breeders who help with Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rapid City paves the way for another one to be saved.
