Bailey's Story...
6/27/16-This cutie was owned in Brooklyn, New York. Her owner dumped her at the big shelter down there and she ended up on the "TO BE DESTROYED" list. The list is published daily of the dogs and cats to be killed the next day in the NYC shelter system. There is nothing wrong with these animals, there's just too many of them and this is how our society deals with this problem. The good news is that there is a system to save these animals in place, although little known. There is a non-profit that will deliver these animals within 4 hrs of NYC. Bailey arrived in Boston about three weeks ago, scared and confused but SAFE! She has since showed us that she is a chubby little sweetheart, who enjoys having her face scratched and loves to be around people. Her previous owner had children and described her as gentle. Bailey is now spayed, tested negative for diseases and vaccinated. She's ADORABLE. PLEASE EMAIL US FOR AN APPLICATION AND SEE OUR HOMEPAGE FOR MORE INFO ON HOW WE OPERATE!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bailey, a Jamaica Plain Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Jamaica Plain, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Jamaica Plain.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jamaica Plain already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jamaica Plain breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jamaica Plain paves the way for another one to be saved.
