Facts about Cuba

  • Color: Tiger Striped
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
5/21/16-Cuba was someone's beloved cat. A woman called us from Waltham complaining that she had called the local shelters repeatedly with no response, and this cat was outside her house for days. We took him. Cuba went to our vet where it was determined he is about 7-8 years old, already neutered and disease-negative. We updated his shots. Our vet said he had recently had his teeth cleaned, so we looked for his owner for over a month to no avail; without a microchip it's tough to find a cat's owner. We are looking to place this lovely little male in a quiet home. When we 1st got him he was thin and vomited almost daily but we resolved this by feeding him "Solid Gold" cat food. He is now gaining his weight back, and needs to be kept on very good food. He's a very nice boy. PLEASE EMAIL US FOR AN APPLICATION AND SEE OUR HOMEPAGE FOR MORE INFO ON HOW WE OPERATE!!

About Second Chance Shelter For Cats

About Our Shelter...

We are a small NO-KILL home-based shelter in the Forest Hills neighborhood of Jamaica Plain and a network of loving foster homes, friends, sympathetic veterinarians and feline rescuers, working to reduce the number of homeless cats in our backyards and on our local Boston streets. We are strictly NO-KILL. We believe that no one has the right to judge (as many shelters do) who is deserving of his or her own life. We euthanize only when a veterinarian concludes an animal is terminally ill with no hope of recovery. We are always asked our hours of operation. We are not staffed during the day, we receive no state, city or federal funding, we are all volunteers who give our time and money for love of the animals. We all work paying jobs during the day and care for the animals every evening.

Come Meet Our Pets...

A few of our cats and kittens live in the adoption center at the Petsmart at 215 Needham Street, Newton, MA.

Our Adoption Process...
