Obsidian's Story...

My name is Obsidian because I am such a black beauty, but you can call me Sid for short!  I am a super loving, talkative, fluffy young boy 1-2 years old. I was abandoned in an apartment building where I stayed  for four days in the stairwell just meowing and crying until someone finally took me in and got me the food and care that I needed.  Can you imagine?!  I am a gorgeous love bug with a big ole fluffy tail, and I'd love to chat with you!  To meet me please e-mail or come visit us at the Petco at 92nd & Broadway in Manhattan on Saturdays from 2-6.  I'll be the one standing tall and telling you my life story!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Obsidian, a New York Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in New York, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
