Smokey Joe's Story...
Smokey Joe is an older male mini. He was turned into the shelter after his owner died. Smokey Joe's teeth were the worst our vet had ever seen. He underwent surgery and lost quite a few teeth, but was back to eating the same day as surgery. He is an absolutely wonderful little boy, but he has trouble adjusting to new dogs coming into foster care. We now feel he would do best as an only dog. He is crate trained and housebroken. He loves to run in a fenced yard. Due to his unknown history, he would do best in a home with no small children. Won't you give this sweet, sweet boy a place to spend his last few years?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smokey Joe, a Cincinnati Schnauzer (Standard) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Standard) for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Schnauzer (Standard) dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Standard) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Standard) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
