Facts about Columbo

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Gray, Blue Or Silver Tabby
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
Yo, I'm Columbo! I'm a huge handsome silver tabby fellow with the sweetest disposition. I came here after some kind people found me wandering around at a community cat colony last winter. My eyes were just slits, so infected I was nearly blind. I was very thin because I couldn't see to find food.

Once they brought me in, we found out I had a condition called entropion, where I was born with my eyelids folded in against my cornea. Every time I blinked, it scratched and hurt my eyes, and I would have slowly and painfully gone blind. Instead, Happy Cats got me surgery to fix them. You can see that I'm healing up nicely!

I'm a loving and confident guy, the first one to introduce myself to new people and make new friends. I love to hang out with my people, helping them with everything, your official Court Reporter. I'm still a youngster, so get out the toys and watch me go! I'm also a tummy rub kind of guy, who loves to flop and purr with my favorite people.

I am FIV positive, but I get along fine with the other cats I've met, so I can live happily in a home with other cats and if I get good health care, my lifespan should be just about the same as any other cat. I do fine with other nice dogs, so should be a great addition to just about any home. If you’d like to read more about FIV, please click here:

I can be adopted for $60, which includes my neuter, vaccinations, microchip, two virus tests, a blood panel, a month of free insurance and a free vet visit. I'm in a loving foster home now, so please call 635-5000 to arrange to visit me. I can’t wait to meet you!

About Happy Cats Haven

About Our Shelter...

At Happy Cats Haven, we take in homeless Colorado cats and kittens and find them new, forever homes. We give our cats the gift of time: time to recover from the trauma of losing their homes and time to show their true personalities. All cats stay here until they are adopted, unless too ill to survive.

Each adoption is hand-crafted, matching our deep understanding of each cat with the adopters' needs and family members for the perfect match. Adopters also have all the time they need in our comfy colonies to get to know our kitties.

Our ongoing support with classes and online advice continues long past adoption. We have found forever families for over 1,400 cats and kittens since 2011!

All our funding comes from private individuals and grants. Eighty-seven percent of all money we raise goes directly to making sure every cat and kitten is healthy, happy and adoptable. For every full-time equivalent staff member, we saved over 160 cats and kittens in 2015. This was made possible by all of our dedicated, loving volunteers.

We are a 501(c)3 organization, so your donation is fully tax-deductible. If you would like to help us continue our good work, you can go to our website and click on the Help Us tab. The volunteers and kitties thank you!

Our Adoption Process...

We have a downloadable Adoption Application on our website. It's helpful if potential adopters fill that out before visiting. Our adult cats and "catolescents" between 6 and 12 months are $80, which includes their FIV/FeLV testing, spay/neuter, microchip, all vaccinations, a month of free insurance, food & litter starter kit and a free vet visit voucher. Seniors and other special needs cats include the same signing bonus and are $60. Our kittens are $125 for those under 6 months, including the same package. Other adoption specials can be found on our website or Facebook page.
