Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Peaches is a sweet little girl who came to us in desperate need. She was posted as free on an online swap site in Detroit, and our rescue volunteers sprang into action and saved her before anyone with ill intentions might have a chance to get her to use as a bait dog. When she arrived in our care, she was in rough shape. It was obvious that someone had used her as a breeder dog over and over in her short life, and her underbelly was covered in masses of mammary tumors. Last week, our sweet little Peach underwent a three hour surgery to remove the masses, but one had metastasized around her urethra and femoral arteries. Tissues samples were sent away to test for aggressive cancer, and the results have amazingly shown that she is cancer free! As she heals, we are able to see what a sweet, special little girl she really is. She acts like she has never been loved before she came into rescue, and she is cherishing every caress and treat that she receives. Now that she is on the road to recovery, we still have a big vet bill to pay off. Her total surgery was just shy of $800, and we need to raise that amount to pay the vet and allow us to continue to care for the latest animals coming into our care. Please check out our fundraisers on our facebook page.
Peaches is current on vaccines, spay/neutered and heartworm tested. Adoption fee for Peaches is $250. If you are interested in adopting Peaches, please fill out an adoption application http://www.furgetusnotrescue.org/application.html
