My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lizzie came from a local shelter with an estimated age of a 1 y/o, but she was high positive for heart worms and shows physical signs of having given birth to at least one, if not more litters of puppies! Regardless if she is 1 or 2, she is an adorable beagle/terrier mix. She is a little over 13 inches and is a chunky 25 pounds. She is working on her diet and now that she has recovered from heartworm treatment, she is becoming more active with the pack.

Lizzie has good house manners and uses the dog door with out problems. She has had only a rare accident since being treated for a urinary infection when she was first pulled from the shelter. She rarely gets into anything in the house that does not belong to the pack. She has been crate trained in the past but is reluctant to go into a kennel now. Lizzie can be sensitive to commands and goes into a submissive pose if asked to do something that she does not want to do.

Lizzie is a good pack member. She is never demanding of the spotlight, but is happy to join in on a squirrel chase! She does have a fondness of digging for moles in the yard, but never digs just for fun. Unfortunately, she is a very good hunter and she does likes to show off her prizes when captured!

Lizzie loves to cuddle but only comes up into your lap when invited. She has such a sweet nature that it breaks your heart to know that this little girl has learned not to trust people in her short life! Lizzie is making good progress in understanding that people are not going to hurt her. She loves sleeping on the big bed at night, so will want a family that will continue to let her snuggle in at bedtime. If you are looking for a small girl, then please give this beautiful fur baby at chance!
