My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Katy is a 6 yr. old black and rust dobergirl that has found herself in rescue due to tragic family circumstances. She is sweet and loving but not clingy or demanding of attention. Katy has excellent manners in the home and is respectful of furnishings. This polite girl wouldn't dream of taking food that wasn't hers or think the couch was her bed. She enjoys having her own dog bed and it seems to help her feel calm and secure. Katy gets along with the other dogs in her foster home but her attempts to engage them in play often sound more serious. When they try to play with her, she quickly becomes unsure and runs off. Katy is not cat safe. Sensitive and unsure of many things, Katy will do best in an adults only home that will patiently encourage her to gain confidence and deal with her many fears. She needs a single level home with few steps/stairs, as well as carpet or rugs to walk on as she finds smooth flooring way too slippery to navigate. Katy was a beloved pet with her last owners who gave her a calm, quiet home and worked to rehabilitate her from a murky past and obvious abuse. We are hoping to find a similar home with owners that will cherish this sweet girl, mindful of the rough road she's traveled, and give her the forever home she deserves.
