Facts about Sicily

  • Breed: Calico
  • Color: Calico Or Dilute Calico
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
Sicily was born in a garage to a human friendly stray mother. She can be a little skittish and needs time to get used to you and slow, calm movements. She is mostly white with big calico spots. She would be happiest with a friendly male, as she likes to be around a male at all times; perhaps they make her feel safer. The male she is shown with in one of the pictures is not for adoption, but he is one of her boyfriends!

About Riley's Ark

About Our Rescue Group...

Riley's Ark is named in honor of a beloved Staffordshire Bull Terrier who lived with us for 15 years before she succumbed to cancer. She loved and lived with all kinds of other animals. All pets live underfoot with other cats and dogs. We have limited space in our home, so until one is adopted, we cannot take another one in.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do not have facilities for visits unless arrangements are made by phone. Usually we do a home visit with a pet who has been predetermined as possibly appropriate for a particular home. Our pets are kept under foot, not in cages, so they tend to be better socialized than many shelter pets, and we do not euthanize healthy pets. We also use foster homes, so if you are interested in fostering a pet, please contact us about that. Please help us by donating by clicking the PayPal button at Our pets thank you.

Our Adoption Process...

There is an application form to be filled out, references checked and a home visit may be required. A cash or PayPal non-refundable adoption donation helps to defray costs, since all pets have up-to-date vaccinations and are spayed or neutered before they can be adopted. Rates vary depending on what medical care was involved to get a pet ready for adoption. You will find that our rates are quite reasonable when compared to many rescues and shelters in the area. We will also work with you to make sure that your adoption gives you a forever companion. We have a two-week health guarantee that if your pet gets sick within two weeks of your adopton date, if you bring the pet to us to see our vet, you will not have to pay for the pet's care. After the two weeks, it is your responsibility to give veterinary care to your pet.
