Saphira 1 YR OLD's Story...
SAPHIRA (Mahina's sister) is a 1 year old Shepherd/Boxer mix female. Her mother was rescued by another rescue organization when she was pregnant, and she gave birth not long afterward to Saphira and her siblings.

Unfortunately, that rescue did very few adoptions, so Saphira was never adopted and grew up at the rescue. Finally, she was transferred here to New Lease on Life at a year old so she could find a real home of her own.

Saphira is great with other dogs and kids. She did grow up around cats at the other rescue, but she has a tendency to chase them, so some training will be required if you have a home with cats. She is also crate trained.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Saphira 1 YR OLD, a Struthers German Shepherd Dog/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Boxer for sale in Struthers, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Boxer dog from a breeder in Struthers.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Struthers already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Struthers breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Boxer breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Struthers paves the way for another one to be saved.
