Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Grizzly, an 8 month old Corgi/ Sheltie/Papillon mix--our best guess based on what he looks like! He is pint-size at 12 pounds. Although Grizzly is a terrible name for such a cute dog, there's a reason for it: The first time he meets you, he might bare his teeth and growl, and even snap. But once he gets to know you, he is just like a teddy bear: cute, cuddly, your new best friend, and just the right size to fit in your lap. Because he is scared of strangers and sudden movements, Grizzly needs a home without young children.
Grizzly is house-trained, likes to go for walks and walks nicely on a leash; he is not much of a barker unless excited. He is fine with cats, other dogs both large and small, and teen-age children. He likes to play with toys, and knows how to fetch. But he is still a puppy who needs training and socialization, so cannot be left home for long hours. He is ready for obedience school, and that is another requirement of adoption.
You can meet Grizzly at his current foster home, Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Rd, 7 days a week during normal store hours (847-251-6750, www.wilmettepetcenter.com). Although he is so cute you will want to take him home on the spot, please know you will have to go through the application process first.
Grizzly's adoption fee of $375 includes: vet exam, heartworm test, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, bordetella vaccination, rabies vaccination, routine deworming, flea/tick preventative, heartworm preventative, microchip and neuter.
