This little girl, Kahlua, is a hard luck story with a wonderful surprise. Kahlua was in a shelter, without being adopted or reclaimed, for a year before they asked ABR to take her in. With that history you’d expect her to be difficult or have some unusual behaviors, at best. That’s why she went into a foster home with a very experienced foster mom who’s around quite a bit.

Kahlua is house, crate and leash trained. She has had zero accidents in the house and always tells her foster mom when she needs to go out. She adores her senior Boxer companion and asks her to play without being pushy. She does Boxer burns outside and tries to get foster mom to throw her ball. She likes to drink from the hose and roll around in the grass (bet that feels like heaven after so long on concrete.)

Kahlua has very good manners and doesn’t get into anything that is not hers. She is not overly clingy although she does love her foster mom’s companionship. She loves having toys and if one is not in her mouth it’s within reach. Kahlua does have some issues that ABR is working with. She will see a vet in mid September for a limp and a bad tooth. She is heartworm positive, but many of our rescues are. It’s not difficult to treat any more and ABR helps the adoptive family with treatment. If ever a sweet, happy 4 year old Boxer deserved her own family, it’s got to be Kahlua. She’s waited very patiently for you.
