Stella's Story...
Hi, my name is STELLA and I’m a STUNNING and SLEEK one and a half year old SAVANNAH and PIXIE-BOB mix female. As if that didn’t make me special enough, I’m also a POLYDACTYL cat! (I have an extra toe on each of my front paws) As you can see from my photo, I have an ADORABLE SHORT STUBBY TAIL and IMPRESSIVE EAR TUFFS, both typical of my breed. Here is my story: When my owner became too sick to care for me, She took me to Posh Pets Rescue and asked them to find a LOVING HOME for me. I am staying temporarily in a foster home and here is what my foster parents have said about me: “STELLA is LAID BACK and VERY PLAYFUL and LOVES it when you throw balls for her to chase. She is still quite KITTENISH. She’s fairly SELF-CONTAINED and seems HAPPY to AMUSE HERSELF. She’s also VERY AFFECTIONATE and enjoys being made a FUSS of. STELLA absolutely LOVES being BRUSHED, and will ROLL AROUND on the floor PURRING. She has NEVER hissed or lashed out, even when I’ve cleaned her paws in the sink. However, she can get quite nervous from loud noises and commotion, but she calms down quickly. She would likely do best in a single cat family where she would get plenty of LOVE and ATTENTION.” If I sound like the PURR-FECT kitty, that ‘s because I am! I am neutered, UTD on shots, and FIV/FeLV negative.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Stella, a Long Beach Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Long Beach, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Long Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Long Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Long Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Long Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
