Shakira's Story...
Hi My name is Shakira! and i am beautiful golden FEMALE 3-4 year old RETRIEVER MIX with bushy tail, weighing 44 pounds

I am a very sweet dog and love other dogs, but I have just come from Thailand where i was rescued from some some bad men who stole me ,and was going to take me to the illegal dog meat trade so I am a little scared of loud noises.. . i am very lucky as some kind people saved me

I am safe now of course but still load noises startle me at first . but once I am comfortable i am very happy dog, and love to play with my dog friends

If you have a home out of city that would be perfect for me.. I love the water and try to swim in the bay close to me. In Thailand there was lots of beaches :-)

i am already neutered with all my updated shots and have been fully vetted

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shakira, a Long Beach Retriever (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Long Beach, or seeking a Retriever (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Long Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Long Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Long Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Long Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
