Skye's Story...
Meet Skye, who came to came to the Coronado Animal Care Facility as a stray. She has spent the past year working on her manners in preparation to find her forever home. Skye is a female Staffordshire Terrier Blue Nose who is 5 years old and weighs 92 pounds.

This beautiful girl has a velvety coat, lovely liquid eyes and is as sweet as they come. While PAWS usually doesn't work with what are known as the "bully breeds," this dog stole the hearts of staff and volunteers alike, so we all made the commitment to caring for this wonderful animal and finding her a home.

Skye needs a home with ample space due to her size. She also needs plenty of exercise, as she is young and very energetic. She needs someone (or a couple, or a family) who will love her while keeping firm boundaries, so as not to undo all the hard work of the last year. She gets along with passive male dogs, but alpha males or any female dogs would not be appropriate playmates. And, if there are children in her new family, they need to be mature and responsible enough to understand Skye's breed, strength, personality and needs.

Perhaps you have the forever home Skye is looking for? Is there room in your life for a new best friend? Why Adoption is a Great Option

Skye, a Coronado Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Staffordshire Bull Terrier for sale in Coronado, or seeking a Staffordshire Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Coronado.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Coronado already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Coronado breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Staffordshire Bull Terrier breeders who help with Staffordshire Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Coronado paves the way for another one to be saved.
