Update 12/29/16
Beamer is a lab mix. He is about 55#s and 8 1/2 months old. He has basic obedience training. He is crate trained.
He is a very submissive dog. He was adopted out and had random fear issue. Was always afraid of the dad in the house ,tentative around other males. He lost weight, tended to isolate himself and was returned to rescue. This was a very nice family. They had a trainer, tried Prozac and a thunder shirt to no avail. Sometimes he was happy to enter the house and other times he was afraid.
He has settled in here and gained weight. He is off prozac. He has no history of abuse. But he can be painfully shy.
He needs a fenced yard, another gentle confident dog he can buddy with. An all female home maybe best. He needs calm and gentle direction.
I am afraid he will never be a rowdy about town guy. But could be a great companion in the right home.
UPDATE 9.12.16- Moon Beam is about 5 months old now. He is a wonderful little pup. Crate trained, potty trained and verbally responsive. Very cuddly and fun.
Moon Beam is healthy and full of puppy energy, although he will be a big dog, he is over 40#s now.
Due to his size and puppy clumsiness, toddlers are not a good fit. Older kids would be fine.
He is a gentle natured baby. They are only able to be loved family members…if you are looking for a guard dog, these gentle pups will never be that.

Moonbeam is a 10 week old lab mix (Mom is a black lab, no idea on Dad) who came to us with demodex (not contagious) mange. He is slowly improving and has a wonderful, playful personality.
