I found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Pixie's Info...

I am already spayed, a special needs pet, and up to date with shots.

Pixie's Story...
Pixie is my name and I say it suits me! I am a super sweet and affectionate lady who loves to sneak into any available lap. When I was originally rescued in Puerto Rico I had a lot of trauma done to my leg from a car and the veterinarians decided amputating it was the best option for me. This means I am considered a Special Needs adoption. I don't let it get in my way and I am convinced I get around just as well on 3 legs as my four legged friends do. I am best guess a Schnauzer mix and full grown at about 27 pounds, shhh the staff here say I should drop a pound of two but I say pass the treats please. I am looking for a family with children 10 years and older because I am an adult rescued gal. Ready for the challenge and joys of a new canine pal? Stop in and visit with me today!

Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold. To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information, we encourage you to visit our shelter in person. Due to the high volume of interest, email and phone inquiries may not be returned on a daily basis. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! www.capeannanimalaid.org 978-283-6055 ex 10 for reception desk

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pixie, a Gloucester Schnauzer (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Miniature) for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Schnauzer (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Miniature) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
