Charlotte's Story...
Charlotte is a dear dog in need. She is a sensitive pooch, so the clamor and activity of the shelter is stressing her out. In her kennel, she is reluctant to let you leash her up; however, once you have her outside and give her lots of reassuring "good girls," she become a bit more comfortable. Out walking in the park, she is on the alert. She wants to meet other dogs and appears to be fine with them. If you sit on the grass in the sun for a moment, she will hover over your lap and draw close for comfort. We would really like to find a foster or forever home for this girl soon so we can watch her come out of her shell as she realizes her surroundings have changed much for the better.

Act quickly to adopt Charlotte. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Charlotte, a Berkeley Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
