Rosie's Story...
Meet Rosie! Rosie is another of the Hopatcong hoarder dogs. She is very timid and was having a bit more trouble adjusting to life outside that house of horrors, but after a week in foster she has gone from plastering herself in corners trying to make herself disappear to following her foster mom everywhere, giving kisses, and cuddling! She still gets panicked easily with new people and situations and will needs a patient quiet adult home where she will be given time to feel safe and loved. Email njwoof@cs.com if you are interested. She's about 5 years old and under 30lbs full grown

We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS). To help us better match a pet to your household, we request you fill out an application on our homepage www.secondchance.petfinder.com and copy and paste it into an email, or print it and bring it to our adoption day when you come. Local inquiries only please- we do not do long distance adoptions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rosie, a Oak Ridge Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Keeshond dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Keeshond for sale in Oak Ridge, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Keeshond dog from a breeder in Oak Ridge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oak Ridge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oak Ridge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Keeshond breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Keeshond rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oak Ridge paves the way for another one to be saved.
