Here's what the humans have to say about me:
BUBBA is a 4 year old neutered black male Lab who weighs 36 pounds. Bubba is a sweet and friendly boy. He was rescued from a neglectful situation and then needed to get out of an area in WV affected by the recent floods. His journey included a raft trip because the small bridge to the shelter was unusable. Bubba is friendly with dogs and traveled well in the car. He will need to go to obedience training. He is approved for kids 10+. More info soon!
Update: Bubba has done great with people and even good near a busier road on his walks. He acts younger than 4 and does have a lot of energy but plays great with the resident dog. He loves to snuggle, and will literally lay on you to get love. He's showing more interest in toys and playing keep away from the resident dog. Likes to be near his people and when he naps, he naps hard. His fur looks healthier, he looks less bony and isn't scarfing down his meals anymore. He learned sit, very quickly and was easily motivated by treats. Bubba gets weekly medicated baths to treat his non-contagious Demodex mange. He goes easily into his crate when his fosters leave, but sleeps out of it at night. He walks best on an easy walk harness. Bubba is such a catch and just needs some love!
Update: Bubba is patiently waiting for his permanent home. He loves to play with other dogs. Bubba is currently eating 3 meals a day to gain some weight and it appears to be working! Bubba's fosters brought him to the beach for a few days--he did great in the car and loved to howl at the waves and chomp at the foam. He will need some training, but is very eager to please and a complete love! He is strong despite his size and walks much better on an easy walk harness. He goes into his crate easily with a treat. He is friendly and loves to give kisses in return for neck and ear scratches. This guy just needs some TLC and he's good to go!
