My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

RAVEN: 6 Month - 1 Year Old Black Lab Mix Female unspayed 40 pounds

Raven was found as a stray in the Modesto area.

We are not sure why Raven was a stray as she is one nice girl! We rescued her out of the shelter and now have her in a foster home in San Francisco.

Her foster home says she is doing really well. That she is a mellow girl, does not really bark unless she wants to play with another dog. They are crate training her as she is not 100% potty trained yet. She loves all other dogs and people; she thinks they all want to be her new BFF. The foster has been walking her around the city and took her to a beach barbeque and she did great. She is not afraid of the BIG city noises and just runs around wagging her tail with a smile on her face. She would do fine in a home with another dog and we think she would be fine with a cat. (She may try to chase the cart but she would be easy to manage.) She did fine on her car ride with GGLRR but we would suggest a tie down or a crate just to make sure she is secure. She seems to not have been on stairs in her previous home as she is a bit unsure of them at the fosters home. The foster home as a few people coming and going and she has been fine with all the activity. She would do great in a home with kids as she is a great size and would not overwhelm small children.

We would like a home that is around and not gone for long periods of time as she is still a puppy. A home that can continue her exercise and training and a home that knows what it is like to have large active dogs.

We are getting Raven into the vet this week to check her paw. She has an abrasion on her paw and has antibiotics she is taking. (The shelter did x-rays and nothing on her paw is broken) She has all her shots and is microchipped. We need to do a well exam, a fecal exam, a heartworm test and have her spayed.

She is located in San Francisco.

If you are interested in making this nice girl part of your family email Rescue Rep Liz at liz@jobshopsf.com or call 415-613-6374.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
