My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

THIS IS A COURTESY POST. PLEASE REPLY DIRECTLY TO EMAIL AT BOTTOM IF INTERESTED.

Meet Shelby. She's a 3-year-old Boxer/Plott Hound girl with a beautiful coat and a temperament to match. Shelby is sweet and affectionate, and loves to snuggle at every opportunity. Shelby was a stray so we don't have any information about her past. We only know about her present - and she is a darling dog, good with everyone, both people and dogs.

Shelby has good house manners, is well house trained and crate trained. She is good on a leash, but is inclined to pull. So continuing her basic training would be beneficial and fun for everyone involved. She responds well to praise and food as rewards which will make her training a breeze.

Shelby is shy with people she doesn't know, sometimes cowering and barking at first. However once she knows someone, she seeks out attention and a connection. She likes to hang with her person, and does look for guidance, a big asset in training. When she meets new dogs, she is excitable at first with the small ones, and well behaved with the large ones. She prefers to chase cats, but will ignore them with the appropriate instruction.

Shelby's favorite pastimes are running in the yard and playing with other dogs. She is currently living with multiple dogs and loves the interaction. She has grown in confidence in a busy foster home, and will continue that progress with a family that wants to share their love and their home with this charming girl.
