About Pawlosophy Inc

About Our Rescue Group...

Pawlosophy, Inc. is a safety net for so many homeless dogs and cats each year. Each year, an estimated 6-8 million cats and dogs enter shelters and other animal rescue organizations for a multitude of reasons. Some are stray or feral, some are from “accidental” litters, some are relinquished from irresponsible owners or even from loving homes, and still others are confiscated from neglectful or abusive situations. In all cases, the animals are homeless through no fault of their own, but because some person failed his/her duties as a responsible pet owner.

Pawlosophy embraces the philosophy of “No Kill” animal welfare organizations by striving to find suitable homes for all the orphaned and injured animals that pass through our doors and foster homes. However, we also acknowledge the incapability, due to our limited funds and resources, to accept all animals in need. Our specialty is to provide a refuge to those pets who might otherwise be destroyed at area shelters for reasons such as a treatable injury, illness, or those who are too scared or too young to go up for adoption at their time of arrival. These animals are lovingly cared for while they are prepared for adoption, and then they are adopted into loving homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

If you would like to ADOPT one of our dogs that is currently in foster care, please fill out an adoption application. All dogs and puppies will be examined by a veterinarian, evaluated by an animal trainer/behaviorist, spayed/neutered (age and health permitting), vaccinated, microchipped before adopted. Adopters receive a free 30 days gift of pet health, coupons for a free vet exam, pet food and flea treatment.

Anyone interested in adopting an animal in foster care must fill out an adoption application. The application must be filled out completely. The Foster Care Coordinator will review all applications and will call the adopters vet reference (if applicable) and will also do a landlord check (if the adopter does not have a copy of their lease stating they are allowed pets at their property.) Once an adopter is approved, the foster parent will schedule a meet with the potential adopter.

If you have a specific dog in mind, please let us know on your adoption application.

Our Adoption Process...

Our goal is to find permanent loving homes for our rescues, and we know you want the best pet for your situation. This profile will assist us matching the one most suited to your needs and interests.

Once you have submitted your application, someone from the adoption committee will contact you by email. If you are qualified for adoption, you will be invited to come to where the animal is to meet your potential pet. This is not a guarantee that you will adopt as the meetup is what really decides who will adopt who. There are also times you will not get to “pick a pet” as we will determine which one might be best for your situation.

If the meetup goes well, a home inspection will be scheduled to ensure that the new pet will have a safe home and that all conditions are as put forth in the application. This will also help you identify any potential issues that you may have inadvertently overlooked.

If your home passes the inspection, congratulations you are new parents! You can then sign the Adoption Agreement, make your adoption donation and take your new companion HOME!

Our adoption donation fees are :
• $375 for pups under 6-months of age;
• $175 for kittens under 6-months of age;
• $300 for pups 6-months but under 12-months of age;
• $150 for kittens 6-months but under 12-months of age;
• $250 for dogs over 12-months of age;
• $100 for cats over 12-months of age;
• special arrangements may be made for seniors or those with special needs.

Please note: If the pet you have chosen has not yet been spayed or neutered due to age medical reason, you may be able to take it home with you, but this will require you to sign an Early Release agreement, a binding legal document that commits you have the animal sterilized once the procedure can be performed. California requires that we collect a $75.00 deposit for unsterilized pets. We will hold this in escrow and return it to you when you submit proof of sterilization per the terms of the signed Adoption Agreement.

To qualify for adoption, you must:

•Be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license or state Identification Card stating your current address.

•Have the knowledge and consent of a landlord, if relevant.

•Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide medical treatment, proper nourishment and care, and training for a pet

We reserve the right to refuse adoption to anyone. Please be advised that we will not adopt to persons who mislead or fail to provide accurate information on this application.
