Sunshine's Story...
Meet Sunshine! Sunshine came to us because unfortunately, her person was admitted to a nursing home. Sunshine had 4 herniated discs which were very painful, she would scream when you touch her. We took her to a neurologist who started treatment to relieve her back. Sunshine is now doing really well now and enjoys being held, she does still walk with a hunch in her back, but gets along great. A herniated disc can be aggravated and re-injured so it's important she find a home that is low activity with no children. She is not allowed to jump on and off furniture but she is a lap dog, so will need to be helped up and down by her person. Sunshine weighs about 4lbs, she is 7 years old, super sweet and spunky! Please email Jo Ann ( for information about how to adopt Sunshine or visit

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sunshine, a Mesa Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Mesa, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Mesa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mesa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mesa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mesa paves the way for another one to be saved.
