Here's what the humans have to say about me:
KIZZY is a 6 year old spayed yellow female Lab who weighs 60 pounds. Kizzy is a sweet girl who is shy at first, but warms up nicely if you let her first sniff the back of your hands. She came in as a stray to the shelter, had been hanging around with two other strays who have since gone to rescue. From LR evaluator: At the shelter Kizzy is a bit shy, she is always looking for her human/s. She warms up once given reassurance. She gave attention, sought it and did the head rub with kisses. She took treats from the floor after warming up. No interest in toys. Did fine on the leash. A calm environment would suit this girl nicely right now. Kizzy went on an outing to the Bowie Bay Socks Dogs From LR transporter: She rides well, is a little shy until you let her smell the back of your hands. A beautiful girl. We got her a Baltimore Ravens Leash and black Martingale collar to go with her wherever she goes. She is approved for kids 10+. More info soon!
Update: Kizzy is getting nice and comfortable in her foster home. She is very low maintenance and has great house manners. Kizzy is totally house trained, sleeps through the night in her dog bed, and does well in the crate when her people are away. She is shy, but gaining confidence every day. Kizzy loves walks and does fine with just a collar. She doesn't mind being brushed and has learned that the word "Belly Rub" means awesome things. Kizzy doesn't show any interest in jumping on furniture and lets her foster mom sleep in as long as she wants in the morning. She likes to be around her person, but isn't clingy. Kizzy does well with other dogs. She met a puppy today and when it whined Kizzy went over and checked on her and gave it a kiss. She also walked by a home with two barking, aggressive dogs who were behind a fence and she was totally unfazed by them. Kizzy is a little picky about her food, but is enjoying the high value snacks she gets when it's time to do something brave, like meet scary strangers.
Update: Kizzy is a beautiful, sweet, quiet, timid girl. She rides great in the car and enjoys looking out the window. Kizzy LOVES to take walks and enjoys hanging out outside. She seems very grateful for everything her human does for her. She is affectionate and gives gentle kisses and she's figuring out that belly and ear rubs are great! Kizzy likes to know where her human is and accompanies them if they leave the room, but doesn't need to be on top of them. She aims to please and loves being told she is a "Good Girl". She seems a bit startled with sudden noises and to fast movements and she is a bit shy of new people, so it's best to go slow and get her go at her own pace to get comfortable. Kizzy slept great through the night on her dog bed and is house trained. She does steps well and has typical energy for a lab her age. She is showing some interest in toys, but isn't quite sure what to do with them yet.
