Thinking about bringing Leo or another wonderful Senior Springer into your family? Read why rescuing Senior Springers is a top priority for ESRA.

Meet the handsome and healthy Leo! His foster family describes him as a "big-time Velcro dog" who truly loves having his people nearby.

Leo is looking for a family in which at least one member is home much of the time. He has some anxiety when people leave for more than a couple of hours. Leo is housetrained and enjoys free rein in the house. He much prefers to have room to move about, as confinement increases his anxiety.

This good-looking guy lives in a foster home with other dogs, and he gets along great with them. He chases cats, so it would be best to avoid that temptation. Leo is an excellent car rider, and he loves riding shotgun. Swimming is an activity that Leo can take or leave. "I'm more of a land Springer," he would say.

Because he is a strong and strong-willed dog, Leo would benefit from an obedience class where he can bond with his new owner and pick up a few tips to help him understand that his humans are the leaders.

Leo seems to prefer following his foster dad around. He does enjoy the company of his foster mom, too, but he sticks like glue to his foster dad. Leo will make a wonderful companion for someone who is looking for an all-the-time buddy!

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.
Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Leo.
